Accounts Assistant
Acquisitions Systems Ltd are looking for a proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is a hands-on role combining day-to-day accounts responsibilities with the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, including supporting the implementation of a new AP automation system.
Our products are used in monitoring and control systems across pharmaceutical, NHS, and life sciences sectors, as well as general engineering and military applications — so accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail are key to everything we do.

The Role
This is a varied and engaging position within a supportive finance team, where you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts function while contributing to ongoing improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices and managing payment runs
- Reviewing and maintaining employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policy
- Administering the expenses system, including setting up users and maintaining fuel rates and nominal codes
- Supporting process improvements across accounts functions
- Assisting with system and process changes, including AP automation activities
- Supporting Accounts Receivable and wider finance tasks as required
About You
You will bring a positive and proactive approach to your work, along with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail. You’ll be comfortable working as part of a team and open to developing your skills in a changing environment.

Person Specification
Essential
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role, mainly Purchase Ledger
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Well organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise workload
- Strong communication skills
Desirable
- Experience using Sage 200 or similar accounting software
- AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualified or currently studying towards AAT
- Experience with expenses systems
- Experience in process improvement
